The desktop recorder

You are already having the meeting. What gets lost is what was said in it: the nuance, the commitment, the name that rang a bell. BlaBlaNote Recorder lives in your menu bar, captures the conversation and files it against the person you spoke to.

Always the latest version. macOS on Apple silicon, and Windows 10 or 11.

Why a recorder and not one more note app

Every note system has the same problem: it only works if you remember to use it. This one starts where you already are.

Capture without friction

One click before you start and that is it. No notes to take, nothing to remember halfway through, no switching tools while someone is talking to you.

Filed against the person, not a file

The recorder reads the event you have running and hangs the interaction off the contacts who were in the room. It is not a loose audio file in a folder.

You decide what gets recorded

It starts when you say so, pauses whenever you want and is discarded with one click.

The icon already tells you what is going on

One glance at the bar, nothing to open. It is monochrome, so it follows the system appearance.

Idle

Black on a light bar, white on a dark one. It stays out of the way.

Recording

Solid red rings. You know you are still recording even with the popup closed.

Uploading

The rings open up and turn while the audio finishes uploading, then settle back down.

Every screen, no surprises

From first launch to the update banner. This is the real interface, at its real size of 320 pixels.

When two events overlap it asks instead of guessing. Until you pick one, recording will not start.

It uploads the last of the audio and returns to ready on its own. You can walk away.

Screen Recording permission needed

BlaBlaNote needs macOS Screen Recording access to capture meeting audio.

macOS asks for permission

The only screen where you have to do something: one click opens the right settings pane.

Couldn't capture system audio

Make sure a playback device is active, then try recording again.

No sound on Windows

There is no permission to grant here, so there is no button that leads nowhere either.

Couldn't capture system audio

It needs PipeWire (Ubuntu 22.04+ / Fedora 34+). Check your audio setup and try again.

Start recording

No sound on Linux

Audio goes through PipeWire, and the message names it instead of talking about permissions that do not exist.

Update ready

It downloads on its own in the background. One click restarts into the new version, whenever suits you.

Recording with intent

Bank-grade encryption and GDPR compliance. The audio is transcribed inside AWS's European regions, and AWS never uses that content to train models or shares it with the model providers. And telling the other person you are recording is not only the right thing to do: in many places it is what the law requires.

How we protect your data

How many good conversations have you lost track of?

The recorder does not ask you to change your habits. It opens where you already work, captures what is said and gives it back as context about the people in your network.
